Passenger transportation company requested a video surveillance system to be installed in minibuses, due to increased discrepancy in daily income and the quantity of passengers using the minibuses. The goal is to provide video feed of the inside of the minibus during the travel time, even in places where 3G/4G coverage is not available. The solution is supposed to monitor drivers and check if they perform their duties according to the instructions.
4G router and one Axis P3915-R camera gets implemented in each minibus in the middle of the upper part of the windshield, covering electronic ticket validator and cash register area. Cameras are equipped with Micro SD cards to enable local recording in the areas where 3G/4G signal is not available. Additionally, Milestone’s XProtect Expert video management software is installed to transfer local recordings from memory cards as soon as the Internet connection is back.
350 minibuses were equipped with the video surveillance system. The Information received from each camera, was transferred to the cloud server, allowing efficient data management and fast access from work stations. The company has reported that they were able to reduce a discrepancy between expected daily income and the amount of passengers served since the implementation of video surveillance system.
